price – or promotional rates – shouldn’t give a clue as to the standard and I would be pleased to stay at either again especially as, in Bur Dubai, the location is pretty central and convenient.

The next day, I was lucky to be able to recline in one of the Emirates 777-300 beds which was very comfortable and I had nice company and a thoroughly good meal as always. But what pleased me most was my neighbour finding my favourite film, Where Eagles Dare, on the excellent ICE entertainment system. I’d always assumed that it would never be on there being forty-four years old but it was probably just me and gadgets still not getting on very well together. So, as my thirty-fifth Indian visit came to an end, I decided that I should do a write-up of the trip I made to Austria over Easter in 2010 to visit the Where Eagles Dare filming locations. It’s still popular, I still love it and, two days later, my father beckoned me into the lounge to show me what was on the TV... Need I say more?
